4MI Open Day

4MIB Remembrance DayThe 4th Military Intelligence Battalion, which is proud of its links with the town and last November held a Military Parade in the High Street, is inviting residents to an Open Day at the Town Hall on Tuesday, 16th September 2014.  This will offer an opportunity for us all to learn more about the Battalion’s role in the British Army and its recent operational experiences.  There will be static and visual presentations and soldiers will be on hand to describe their respective jobs and experiences.  This will run from 9.30am – 4.30pm and will include an award and medal presentation at 1130am.  Do come along and support this event.

Battle of Marlborough

The Civil War Re-enactment on the Common and the Living History display in Priory Gardens were successful events and were well received in the town.  It was wonderful to see so many of the re-enactors out  in costume on the High Street, transporting us back to the 17th century.  Our thanks go to the English Civil War Society for staging such a magnificent event and to those who helped support it - Wiltshire Council, Hills and Marlborough History Society.   A gallery of photos will soon be posted on this website.
