Fast fibre broadband is coming to Marlborough - but it may mean more roadworks to come.
Two companies, Giganet and Gigaclear, have let us know about plans to install fibre wiring to bring fast broadband to the town.
Some work has started already and will continue until around April 2023. This could involve creating trenches (ie roadworks). Both have been advised of dates to avoid, such as Remembrance and Mop Fair weekends, as well as requests that any traffic management required at key points in the town such as the A4/A346 intersection includes managing the traffic priority system so that they can deal with real time backlogs as they form; not setting up traffic restrictions in advance of work actually starting, and working outside peak school run hours and in school holidays.
