Crofton Beam Engines

Crofton Pumping Station is one of the most significant industrial heritage sites in the United Kingdom. Built in 1807-9 to supply water to the highest point of the Kennet & Avon Canal which links London and Bristol.

It’s a fabulous reason for a tour around the beautiful North Wessex Downs to visit your favourite artists or to experience new or different artwork – often in the studio where it was created.

The Open Studios weekends are free and there’s no pressure to buy, so if you have a couple of hours or a whole weekend to spare why not use the website to plan a studio tour.
