2025 Local Elections
Online session for prospective candidates
On 1 May there will be elections for local councils and for Marlborough and Manton this will include both Wiltshire Councillor and Marlborough Town Councillor seats. Have you considered putting yourself forward?
If you'd like to understand what's involved in becoming a councillor please take a look at our Elections page. We'll update it as we get closer to key dates, and we'll publish the election timetable and any appropriate links next month.
The Wiltshire Association of Local Councils has put together an online session to help prospective candidates better understand the role of the Town and Parish Councillor. The session will feature a panel of an experienced Councillor, a Clerk and a member of Wiltshire Council’s Legal, Democracy and Governance team. The hour-long session, scheduled for 6pm on March 5th, will start with a short presentation by the panel talking about their respective roles. The rest of the session will be for prospective candidates to ask questions and better understand the way our Councils work. No obligation!
