Welcome Rod Pooley

Earlier today our Mayor welcomed RHS judge Rod Pooley to Marlborough.

Thursday, 29 July, is judging day for Marlborough in Bloom.  Joining our Mayor were Val Compton, Assistant Town Clerk Clare Harris and Grounds Manager Nigel Weatherly. 

The pandemic has meant this year has been understandably more low key than others, with many volunteers having to step down.  Val deserves a huge vote of thanks, not only for her vision to create the beautiful Waterfront Garden at Kennet Place, but also for her support behind the scenes as well as stepping forward to co-ordinate all the "Its Your Neighbourhood" entries this year.

Good luck and thank you to everyone involved - the IYNs, businesses, volunteers and our staff.  A special mention too for The Lamb Inn for hosting lunch today: a fitting location as Vyv & Jackie have been recognised several years in a row by the judges for their beautiful displays.
