RHS South West in Bloom Judging Day
There was a real feeling of "everyone's a winner" in the Town Hall on the afternoon of Tuesday, 10 July at the end of a glorious day that really helped show our lovely town off at it's best to the RHS judges. There was cake - thank you Waitrose! - awards for the Henry George Garden competition entrants, help from the extended family with Cathy and Pat Weatherly and Jenny Pascall behind the cake table, a rendition of 'happy birthday' to our Mayor led by MiB chairman Steve Pascall, and we even managed to film the BBC film crew, caught on camera with Anna Forbes and Val Compton, IYN entrants and MiB stalwarts... and Geoffrey the Otter. Well done everyone - now for the long wait until October when the awards will be announced.
On Tuesday morning, 10 July, we welcomed RHS South West in Bloom judges Martin Abrahams and Su Maddocks to Marlborough. There's more than ever for them to see this year, and we wish Marlborough in Bloom the very best of luck in the competition.
(L-R: MiB Chairman Steve Pascall, Town Clerk Shelley Parker, RHS judge Sue Maddocks, Town Mayor Cllr. Lisa Farrell, Grounds Manager Nigel Weatherly, RHS judge Martin Abrahams and Bloomers Anne Crawley, Val Compton and Anna Forbes)
