Flood Action Week
Be prepared
Flood Action Week runs from 12–18 October 2026, reminding us all that flooding can happen even after a period of dry weather. This summer’s drought may feel reassuring, but it doesn’t rule out the risk of flooding.
Across England, around 6.3 million homes and businesses are in areas at risk of flooding. Between April 2025 and March 2026, the Environment Agency issued over 3,400 flood alerts, around 1,000 flood warnings and three severe flood warnings.
Here in Marlborough, the severe flooding in January 2024 was a stark reminder of the damage flooding can cause to homes, businesses and our community.
Taking action now can make a real difference. Knowing your flood risk, signing up for flood warnings and understanding how to prepare can help protect you, your property and those around you.
