Councillor Peter Morgan

{Play}Meet your new West Ward Councillor

Following his uncontested election in May (and a trip abroad), Councillor Peter Morgan was welcomed to his first committee meeting earlier this week by Chair of Planning, Councillor Kym-Marie Cleasby.

Peter has lived in Marlborough for 35 years, most recently in Manton Hollow.  He is married to Anne and their three grown-up children all attended Preshute Primary and St.John’s.

A Chartered Engineer, Peter has a background with multi-national hi-tech corporations as a project manager.  Later, he established his own businesses linked to automotive consultancy and motoring publications.

Outside of work, Peter has Chaired Preshute Parish Council and led their successful Neighbourhood Plan submission to Wiltshire Council in 2022.  He is Chair of Manton Residents’ Association,  led the successful campaign to gain improved Bath Road traffic calming at the town’s western boundary and gain the Town Council’s support for the proposed 6-point Traffic Plan in Manton.  It was only a natural progression to increase his community involvement even more by joining the Town Council.

Peter brings organisational, project and cash flow skills to the table and told us that Marlborough had been good to him in the last 35 years and so he now feels he wants to put something back.

Please join us in welcoming Councillor Morgan to the Town Council, pictured here with Town Clerk Richard Spencer-Williams.
