See you there
Marlborough Town Council, The Royal British Legion and Marlborough Rugby Club are hosting a community event on The Common to celebrate VE Day 80.
Please come along and join us at this historic event, a shared moment of celebration.
Bring along your own picnic or tuck into some gorgeous food from Caroline’s Little Kitchen, The Smashed Bullock or Farrs Fish & Chips
Sip a nice G&T from Botanico Bars or grab a pint or two from the Rugby Club bar and watch the sun go down with us
Children’s rides and candy floss courtesy of The Showmen’s Guild and some taster sports sessions will entertain the younger ones, and we will have some vintage cars and vehicles for the car enthusiasts among you!
Phoenix Brass Band and Ramsbury Silver Band will entertain you throughout the evening and Marlborough choir, SING will be performing songs from the era. Music to your ears!
A Sundown Flag Ceremony, led by The Royal British Legion will be followed by a civic procession over to the beacon, which will be lit at 9.30pm
We are encouraging everyone that can, to walk to this event. There will be some parking for those that need to drive and designated parking for veterans and those with mobility issues
We are keeping everything crossed for a lovely, warm May evening and hope to see you all there
