{Play}At half-mast for Michael Ancram

On Wednesday, 2 October the Town Hall flag is being flown at half-mast in recognition of the long public service to our community of former Devizes Constituency MP, The Most Hon. the Rt Hon. the Marquess of Lothian KC Michael Ancram, Devizes Constituency MP from 1992-2010, who has died.

Town Mayor, Councillor Kym-Marie Cleasby said: "We are saddened to hear that former MP Michael Ancram passed away yesterday.  He served the residents of Marlborough and Manton well and faithfully.  To mark his passing the Town flag will be lowered to half-mast in recognition of his service.  Rest in peace" and former Mayor, Councillor Nicholas Fogg MBE added "He was a long-serving and popular MP for this constituency who helped many people, including myself, on a non-partisan basis."
