Kingsbury Street

The Town Council-owned property on the corner of Kingsbury Street is having its windows repaired.  This is much need work for the listed property and for the benefit of tenants.  The work is being carried out as part of various work to Council properties to make them more energy efficient and is required to be done by the Council to ensure it is diligent in carrying out its landlord responsibilities.

The work requires Kingsbury Street to be closed on one side to allow the scaffold to be erected and the work be carried out safely.  The option to not close the road was explored but it was not considered safe enough to leave it open as the scaffold would have been vulnerable to vehicles and buses or HGVs in particular colliding with it as they turned.  The road management system in place has been based on Wiltshire Council Highways advice.

We recognise it is not ideal to have Kingsbury Street closed for these works, and apologise for any inconvenience.

It is hoped the work will be completed by the end of November, weather permitting.
