Former Town Mayor, Maurice Cooper

We have received the sad news that former Town Mayor, Maurice Cooper, has died

Maurice Cooper served Marlborough as a Town Councillor for many years and was Mayor twice, the first time in 1989/90 and again in 2000/01.

Councillors have fond memories of a dedicated Mayor who loved Marlborough and served his community extremely well. His son is our current Mayor, Councillor Mark Cooper.

All Town Councillors and Council Staff send heartfelt condolences to Mark, Maurice’s wife, Rosemary, who was his proud Mayoress, and the family.
