New Loo on the High Street
On Monday, 1 July, our Town Mayor and fellow Councillors cut the ribbon to declare the new public toilet open at the Town Hall in the centre of Marlborough. Alongside them were former Mayors Nick and Edwina Fogg who have long campaigned for the facility to be re-opened after they were closed many years ago. This new toilet is suitable for disabled users and also has baby changing facilities and will be open from 6am – 8pm every day with a usage fee of 20p. This is Marlborough’s second public toilet facility with more cubicles available at the George Lane Car Park. The Chantry Lane toilets were closed in 2017 and sold to enable the Town Council to take on closed toilets then owned by Wiltshire Council at George Lane. That building was refurbished with new toilets and recently remodelled to make way for a new Community Room and a small Tourist Information Point – both to be opened soon.
