Giant beacon arrives at Marlborough Common

Many thanks to Simon Coxwell from TH White and Nigel and our grounds team for all their efforts today to install the beacon on The Common ready for Sunday's "Battle's Over" commemoration - it's huge!

On Sunday, over 1,000 Beacons of Light will be lit symbolising an end to the darkness of war and a return to the light of peace

Crofton Beam Engines

Crofton Pumping Station is one of the most significant industrial heritage sites in the United Kingdom. Built in 1807-9 to supply water to the highest point of the Kennet & Avon Canal which links London and Bristol.
