In January 2024 homes and businesses in M arlborough suffered internal flooding at a scale last seen in 1947. Climate change is expected to increase flood risk. Marlborough is in a chalk catch ment, and flood water can come from rivers (fluvial flooding), aquifers (gr ound water flooding), rainfall (surface water flooding) or all three at onc e.

Marlborough Town Council has supported Action for the River Kennet (ARK) in the development of a Flood Dashboard which brings together information from th e river, groundwater and rainfall level gauging stations that impact on the risk of floods for Marlborough in one easy to find place.

We are hosting a drop-in session at the Town Ha ll on Thursday 3rd April from 6.30pm – 7.30pm to give everyone with an inte rest an opportunity to find out more about the Dashboard, learn how to use and understand the information on it.  

The website will be acces sible to anyone with internet access - we will make it live on 3 Apri l.
