rd:\nThis is a reminder from Transition Marlborough (TM) and Marlborough Co
mmunity Orchard (MCO) for the upcoming pruning event that will take place o
n Saturday 9th of March starting in Wye House Garden in Marlborough, before
moving on to St Mary’s churchyard, then to the espalier trees in Waitrose
car park as well as those in Priory Gardens, ending at St Peter’s churchyar
d. The main jobs will be to take care of any necessary pruning as well as c
arrying out weeding, mulching, tidying, tie and stake adjustments, giving t
he trees some much needed t.l.c.\n\nThis event will start at 0930 in Wye Ho
use Garden and we hope to finish by around 1230. You can join us for as lon
g as you are able, all help is much appreciated. If you are unable to atte
nd at the start you are most welcome to call Philippa Davenport on 07963313
822 or Gerald Payne on 07771 937183 to find out where we are if you wish to
join us later.\n\nThis event is open to all with an interest in fruit tree
s, the community orchard concept and helping Marlborough’s flourish and gro
w. Trish Rowell will be with us as usual to help those who wish to learn a
bout pruning, improving their technique and/or learning about general fruit
tree care. We will be able to answer questions about Marlborough Communit
y Orchard’s ethos of helping to make Marlborough a town in an orchard rathe
r than one with an orchard. If you do attend and you have them, can you pl
ease bring secateurs, loppers, pruning saws and/or long handled pruners. A
trowel or small fork, as well as a kneeler would be useful for weeding aro
und the base of the trees if you would prefer this type of work\n
