Stargazing, sketching workshops, storytelling, exhibitions, talks and tours are all on offer during the very first Marlborough Dark Skies Fest

The beautiful and mysterious Museum of the Moon by Luke Jerram will be on display in the Marlborough College Chapel

A jam-packed programme of events is scheduled, including a talk by
Professor Chris Lintott (BBC Sky at Night)
about how the Universe began… and is there anyone out there?

Brought to you by Marlborough Town Council, North Wessex Downs AONB and Marlborough College, the festival combines art and science in a celebration of our beautiful dark skies here in the North Wessex Downs

Essential Information

Venues and Car Parking
Most venues are with a 5-minute walk from the public car parking (some incur charges).  Furthest events are 15 minutes from the town centre.  Disabled parking is available for events at Marlborough College for Blue Badge holders only.
Each event on the booking office site shows you the location of the venue.  For Pay & Display car parks (long/short stay), locations and prices please go to https://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/parking-car-parks 

Outdoor Events
Some events, especially stargazing, will take place outdoors, weather permitting.  Please make sure you wear suitable clothing and footwear for your comfort and warmth and the weather conditions.  Also, venues are spread across the town and you will want to keep warm and dry moving  between them.

Cancellations
If we have to cancel an event due to the weather or any other unforseen circumstance, we shall update the Facebook page and booking office system whenever possible.  If it is a bookable event, we shall do our best to inform anyone book on it by email or phone.  Please check the Facebook page or booking office before your event to ensure it is going ahead.

Refunds - events with charges - there will be no refunds available if you are unable to attend; refunds will only be payable if the event is cancelled.

Children and Vulnerable Adults
Please note that all children under 16 and vulnerable adults must be accompanied by a responsible adult.  Children aged 16-17 attending activities alone must bring a consent letter with them.

Suitability
Together, the events have tried to cater for a range of ages, abilities and interests.  Please read the event detail carefully to assess whether the event is suitable for you or those you are booking for.

Covid-19
To help us keep everyone safe, some events may have limited numbers, and/or require masks and social distancing.  Please do not attend if you have any Covid symptoms.
Please follow current Government advice regarding staying cautious and protecting others.

Photographs
A photographer may be taking photos on the day for future promotion by the organisers of the Festival (Marlborough Town Council, the North Wessex Downs AONB and Marlborough College).  If you do not wish to be in any photos please let the photographer know.
