Roadworks starting 28 July

{Play}A346, Salisbury Road

Wales & West Utilities have provided some detail around the work they are undertaking in Marlborough to replace gas pipes, affecting A346 at Salisbury Road starting Monday, 28 July. They appreciate this will cause disruption and have planned the work to take place during the school summer holidays to try to alleviate some of the inevitable issues for residents and motorists.

Phase 1 will be from the junction of Savernake Court to roughly outside the property known as The Firs. This will necessitate 3-way traffic lights for 2 weeks (pending no issues).

Phase 2 will be from The Firs to the junction with Cherry Orchard - also under 3-way lights. The existing pedestrian crossing will be shut down and a temporary pedestrian crossing installed. This section is anticipated to start 11 August for 2/3 weeks (pending no issues) .

They hope to complete the works on Salisbury Road over the 5-week period that the schools are off.

The lights will be manually controlled Mon to Sat 7am to 7pm.

Wales & West are liaising with Thames Water to see whether they can accommodate works for a water leak in Salisbury Road within their barriers.
