Beacon Lighting
D-Day 80th anniversary
On Thursday, 6th June we will be lighting a beacon on The Common to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day in celebration of the ‘light of peace’ that emerged out of the darkness of war.
The BlueBelles will be performing wartime songs and a musician from St John’s Academy will play a piece of music for us before the beacon is lit and The International Tribute is read at 9.15pm.
