turf-cuttingOn Monday, 26 July, our Mayor was delighted to take part in a turf cutting ceremony at St Johns.

It marked the commencement of an eight-month construction project to build new sports facilities, with a ‘turf-cutting’ ceremony on the site of the new sports hall and outdoor courts.

St Johns Principal, Ian Tucker has been heavily involved in the design and planning of the project. He said:

“These new facilities will provide exciting opportunities for our students, enabling them to fully participate in sport and other activities all year round, regardless of the weather. This is a high-quality development which also improves the range of options that are available for use by the wider community in Marlborough. I am looking forward to being able to open these facilities next year, and to further improving the quality of education we offer our students, as well as the wider local community.”

The development will be used by students, staff and the community and is intended to be completed in March 2022.
