"On behalf of the Community of Marlborough the Mayor and Town Council would like to express their condolences to Her Majesty The Queen on hearing the sad news of the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh"

Anyone wishing to share their thoughts in a book of condolence can do this online - click here

We have received a number of enquiries about physical books of condolence and location for floral tributes.  Please see below from the Lord Lieutenancy Office:

We have received public health guidance that the laying of floral tributes is to be discouraged and residents should be asked to avoid gathering at landmarks at this time due to the ongoing risk of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Royal household themselves have asked that floral tributes are not laid at Royal Residences. We support them and would reiterate that message across Wiltshire. The council has opened an online book of condolence and we would encourage you to direct residents to leave messages and share memories here https://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/registration-service/royal-memorial-events/hrh-prince-philip/book-of-condolence-for-hrh-prince-philip

Public health also advise that physical condolence books are not set up at this time as we should be encouraging people to minimise travel.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding
