New date for dark skies fest
The festival has been postponed to October 2021
Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Covid-19, Marlborough’s first Dark Skies Fest has been postponed and will now take place from Monday, 25 to Sunday, 31 October 2021.
Marlborough Town Council and the North Wessex Downs AONB extend their apologies to everyone who was looking forward to spending the weekend exploring the night sky in Marlborough and hope they can join us for the 2021 festival.
The jam-packed line up of workshops and presentations on stargazing, astrophotography using your phone and wildlife at night, interactive planetariums, themed dinners, art events and exhibitions will all be carried forward to 2021. Most events will be free to attend, and there will be something for all ages and interests, from beginners to experienced astronomers.
Cllr Don Heath from Marlborough Town Council said “We are really excited about the festival, so many people offered to help this year but, with continued enthusiasm, want to join in next year. We are sure it will be a magical and memorable experience for all involved, especially for children. We hope to set people on a journey of discovery and future action to preserve dark skies.”
