Temporary Road Closure
There will be overnight temporary road closures at A4 Bath Road from the junction with the High Street (Marlborough College) to approximately 150m west of the junction with Downs Lane, Manton between 19:00-06:00 until 31 May on weekdays
As well as resurfacing and associated works, parts of the pavement along this stretch of road will also be improved
The main diversion route for all through traffic whilst works are being undertaken within the road closure will be via A345 to Pewsey, west on the C8 through Wilcot, Alton Barnes and Horton to Devizes, north on the A361 to Beckhampton, then east on the A4 to Marlborough and vice versa. See below
Accessing the Leisure centre
The entire length of the site will be closed during the works period because there could be works operations being undertaken at one or several different locations within the site.
Access for staff and customers of the Leisure Centre will be provided through the works site.
The Contractor will maintain pedestrian access for residents for the duration of the works. But staff and customers may experience a delay when travelling in their vehicles depending upon what operation the Contractor is undertaking and where they are working at that particular point in time. They may have to wait for plant to be moved out of the carriageway to allow them to progress. When heading to the leisure centre, staff and customers should allow extra time for any possible delays, there will be traffic management operatives located at the extents of the works, speak to them, explain where they are heading, and they will be able to assist.
There will be points during the material laying process where vehicular access will be restricted as you won’t be able to drive over the newly laid material, therefore when work is underway to resurface across College Fields, staff and customers can use Golding Avenue to gain access.
If anyone is unsure, please feel free to speak to site staff to ask if there will be any restrictions with regards to access. The representative on site will be Nigel Powles.
