School Site
Why is there no provision for a new site for Preshute Primary School?
It was determined early in the Neighbourhood Plan consultations that there were issues with Preshute School in Manton village:
- No parking facilities
- No disabled access
- Two classrooms were in a very old, dilapidated building
- No open green space owned for sports, owned by the school
A potential site for a new school in Barton Park was identified but after consultation with the Head, Governors and Wiltshire Council it was decided the preference was to invest in new buildings on the existing site, and a two-phase improvement proposal has now passed the planning stage
