DESCRIPTION:<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">On Wednesday, 24 June, Marlborough will h
 ost its first ever community Pride event bringing together LGBT+ people, al
 lies, local organisations and supporters for an afternoon and evening of cr
 eativity, wellbeing, visibility and celebration.</span></p><p><span style="
 font-size: 12pt;"><br />The event has been organised to celebrate the diver
 sity of the local community and to demonstrate support for LGBT+ people acr
 oss Marlborough and the surrounding area and organisers are delighted to co
 nfirm that the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire Sir Andrew Gregory, and th
 e Mayor of Marlborough will be attending the event, demonstrating their sup
 port for the LGBT+ community.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> 
 <br />The programme begins at 3.30pm at St Peter’s Church, where local LGBT
 + youth groups, community members and allies will gather to create banners 
 ahead of the town’s Pride parade.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 12pt
 ;"><br />The Marlborough Pride Parade will set off at 6.30pm, proceeding th
 rough the High Street with participants carrying banners and messages of su
 pport, inclusion and equality.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">
 <br />From 7.00pm, celebrations will continue at St Peter’s Church with ref
 reshments, networking opportunities and a programme of entertainment featur
 ing musical theatre piano open mic and performances from local choirs.<br /
 >The event comes at a time when many LGBT+ people feel concerned about chal
 lenges to equality, inclusion and human rights. Organisers hope the day wil
 l provide an opportunity for the wider community to come together in a spir
 it of respect, friendship and solidarity.</span></p><p><span style="font-si
 ze: 12pt;"><br />Organiser Rachel Lynes said:<br />“This event is about vis
 ibility, community and belonging. We want LGBT+ people in Marlborough to kn
 ow that they are valued, supported and celebrated. We are incredibly gratef
 ul for the support we have received from local organisations, community gro
 ups and civic leaders, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to what pr
 omises to be a positive and uplifting event.”</span></p><p><span style="fon
