Commonwealth Day 2018
On Monday, 12th March 2018 and in common with many towns, cities and organisations up and down the country and around the world, Marlborough took part in flying a flag to mark Commonwealth Day. Councillors gathered on the Town Hall steps and the Town Mayor read the Commonwealth Affirmation. This year's theme is 'Towards a Common Future’. Building upon the 2017 theme of 'A Peace-Building Commonwealth', it explores how the Commonwealth can address global challenges and work to create a better future for all citizens through sub-themes of sustainability, safety, prosperity and fairness, in line with the theme of the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London.
