216/20 MAYOR’S ANNOUNCEMENTS
Councillors would want to be aware that since the latest announcement by the Prime Minister, the relevant amendments had been made to bring the council in line with restrictions. For example, now only 15 people could attend wedding ceremonies and receptions so hirers have been informed about this. Track and trace processes had been implemented in our public buildings including the NHS QR code. Some staff would work from home where they can, and volunteers were also ready to be re-mobilised should they be needed.
Even though we’re not able to welcome the full Mop Fairs this year, there would be a small ceremony on Saturday, 10 October where the proclamation will be read out in the normal way and a plaque unveiled to special showman Billy Whitelegg marking his contribution to Marlborough. All would look forward to the Mop Fairs in 2021.
Finally, the Chairman reminded fellow Councillors that the Marlborough Area Board takes place Tuesday, 29 September at 7pm via the Teams platform. The agenda link had been circulated.
RESOLVED: that the minutes of the Extraordinary Meeting held Monday 7 September 2020 were approved as a true record and signed by the Town Mayor
218/20 EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC
RESOLVED: that under the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960, the public and representatives of the press and broadcast media be excluded from the meeting during the consideration of the following item of business as publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest because of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted
219/20 STAFFING ISSUES
Members considered a recommendation by the Staffing Sub-Committee following the resignation of a member of staff.
The Staffing Sub-Committee had agreed the recruitment process, timetable and handover and departure arrangements. The interview panel would be held over two days.
