Today our Mayor and members of the Royal British Legion and Royal Naval Association placed wreaths at the commemorative stone on Marlborough Common which marks the place where the American army hospital - the 347th Station Hospital - was based from May 1944 to July 1945 where thousands upon thousands of service personnel were treated after D-Day.

This was a moving tribute on a special day. Veterans... Marlborough salutes you.
