London Road Resurfacing
Work will be starting on Monday 1 April to resurface A4 London Road from the junction with Elcot Lane to the entrance to Savernake Hospital. This will include new, altered road markings near the hospital to provide safety improvements at this stretch of the route - very good news indeed. The project represents an investment by Wiltshire Council of more than £320,000 in Marlborough's roads.
This will necessitate closure of the road to all vehicles Mon-Fri between 7pm-midnight, with an anticipated completion on 3 May. Pedestrian access will be maintained, local residents have been informed and local businesses will be open as usual. Dedicated traffic management operatives will monitor access and provide assistance and signage for motorists, and the diversion route - via A4-A338-A346 and vice versa - will be clearly marked.
