Marlborough's Mill Wheels Turn a Corner!

Over the weekend of 22nd & 23rd July, Marlborough's former mill wheels were taken from where they were being stored to a new temporary home at The Ropeworks in Kennet Place, closer to their original riverside home.  The Town Mill ceased operations in 1922 and was demolished in the 1980s to make way for a housing development of the same name.

This is all thanks to a small group of local volunteers - Rob and Angie Dickens, Val Compton, Adrian and Tom Burton, Malcolm Lampard (of R J Lampard who delivered it free of charge) and Mike Fernley who has agreed to store them for safekeeping.  Read more...
