Our Mayor, Cllr. Lisa Farrell, was very happy to meet Ewa Sojka of Revitialise to hand over a Town Council grant cheque for £708 which will be used towards a respite holiday for disabled people from Marlborough.  Ewa explained the range of respite options available to both people with disabilities and carers, which include holidays themed for young people, for couples, with evening entertainment and trips to the continent and the Isle of Wight.  They also offer less obvious breaks, such as stays to include Christmas shopping trips so that people can go shopping without their usual carers in order to make sure there’s a surprise for everyone under the Christmas tree.

Revitalise is a national charity providing respite care in a holiday setting for disabled people and carers for over 50 years. Revitalise also offers inspirational opportunities for volunteers through one of the largest and most diverse volunteering programmes of any UK charity.  Read more….
