Based just outside Marlborough, Greatwood is a charity that takes in retired racehorses and combines their rehabilitation with educational programmes for disadvantaged children and adults with special educational needs (SEN).  Currently home to 43 horses, Greatwood is going from strength to strength with over 2,000 children having benefitted from their interactions with these intelligent animals. Town Mayor Cllr. Mervyn Hall was delighted to hand over a cheque for £427 to Jane Muir-Brooks, Greatwood’s enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teacher, to be used to provide safety and protective equipment for learners enrolled on educational programmes. Retired racehorse, Louis, was happy to pose for the camera too!
