On Friday, 11th September our Mayor, Councillor Mrs Margaret Rose, handed a cheque for £500 to Alzheimer's Support at it's carers meeting in Marlborough. This was grant funding from the Town Council towards the fabulous work this organisation does in
Marlborough and surrounding area. It's a small independant charity set up in 1991 and supports people with dementia and their family carers. The group runs its carer's group in Marlborough High Street and works closely with the local surgery and other agencies.
The Town Council runs a small grant scheme and there is still money remaining for this year’s allocation. Criteria and an application form can be downloaded here. More information is available at the Alzheimer's Support website: http://www.alzheimerswiltshire.org.uk.
