Marlborough Puppetry Festival

Our gallery of photos from around town across the two days of the Marlborough Puppetry Festival, including the Civic Service which took place on Sunday 9th July. The festival was organised by David Leech to celebrate 70 years since Bob Pelham founded Pelham Puppets here in Marlborough. David is pictured here with Pinocchio. The wonderful exhibition downstairs in the Town Hall was put on by Richard Gaunt and Nick Carver, pictured proudly standing in front of one of the displays - the majority of the puppets coming from Richard's vast collection. Will McNally brought the original, 84-year old, Muffin the Mule along and he quickly stole many hearts and brought back fond memories. Our thanks also go to the Events Committee headed up by Amba Chawla and all her hardworking, committed volunteers, students at St John’s, The Rotary Club, our Special Constables, Wiltshire Council, The Merchants House and St Peter’s Trust, the Revd Canon Andrew Studdert-Kennedy and many more

Talented students from St John's created a magnificent dragon for the parade that opened the festival - there's a video of the March of the Marionettes here

There are more pictures, articles and information available via the World of Puppets Facebook Page and at Marlborough.News, the BBC, the Guild's website and the Gazette & Herald
